Quick entry
Quick entry is a docked bar on the weld matrix for rapidly adding a run of welds to one ISO — keyboard-first, with each new row carrying forward the last one’s weld type.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- You need Weld Associate access or higher.
- Quick entry only appears when the matrix is scoped to a single ISO — there’s no project-wide version, since it needs one concrete drawing to carry a weld number forward from.
- Quick entry is a Desk feature. On the Field register, use the register’s own new-weld form instead.
Add welds
Section titled “Add welds”- On an ISO’s weld matrix, select Quick entry in the toolbar.
- The Weld № field proposes the next number after the last weld you added (or the ISO’s last clean weld, the first time you open it) — pre-selected, so you can just start typing to replace it. Weld type carries forward from the previous row too, marked with a small ⤓.
- Press Enter (or select Add) to commit the row.
- The bar clears the type-ahead-friendly proposal for the next weld and keeps going — repeat for as many welds as you need.
Each commit goes through the exact same create as the regular New weld form — there’s no separate, lighter-weight path — so every weld you add here is subject to the same rules (a duplicate number on the ISO is refused with an inline error, and you must select a weld type before it commits).
The session tape
Section titled “The session tape”Every weld you’ve added this session appears in a running list below the fields, each tagged Queued (not yet synced to the server), Synced, or Voided. A weld that’s since been filtered out of view carries a Hidden by filters note — select it to clear your filters and find it again.
Select Undo next to any row to remove it:
- An unsynced weld is retracted outright — it’s simply removed, since the server never saw it.
- A weld that’s already synced is voided instead, through the same confirmation as the weld drawer’s own Void… action — never a silent delete of a server-known row.
What happens next
Section titled “What happens next”Each committed weld appears in the matrix like any other row — filtered, sorted, and selected the same way. If you’re offline, welds you add here queue like any other offline create and sync once you reconnect; see Working offline.
