Inspection & NDE
Inspection in MaxTrax is how a weld earns its acceptance. Every weld carries a set of inspections — each one a step such as a radiographic (RT) read, an ultrasonic (UT) read, a heat-treatment check, or a pre-weld fit-up — and each inspection moves through its own result states as the work is reviewed. When the inspection picture for a weld is complete, those results drive the weld’s status.
This section covers the parts of that flow that sit around the core “record a result” step: asking an NDE contractor to shoot or read a batch of welds, capturing the metadata behind a testing type, and the per-project rules that decide what checks a weld gets in the first place.
Inspections are edited by users with permission to record inspections on the project. Some of the capabilities below are configured by project administrators rather than recorded by inspectors, and a few exist in the platform today only as an API with no dedicated screen yet — each page says which is which.
